Professor Etete Peters(MBChB) is an erudite scholar of University of Uyo. He initially had been with University of Calabar and served there for 30years where he added trememdous value to the system while occupying sensitive roles and responsibilities.

His academic qualifications started in 1973 where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate from Primary School, Ikot Okobo, Abak, Nigeria till 2022, when he obtained a Doctor of Medicine(MD) from National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

In his years of service, he has been the Former Chief Medical Director at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (2009 - 2017) and the former Provost , College of Health Sciences at University of Uyo(2020-2022). Mertorious service has attracted recognition with several prizes and awards. Some of which includes a Citation in Marquis Who is Who in Medicine and Health and MDG Icon of the Year Award by League of Democracy Students.

His attention to detail and thorough disposition to task has made him prefered for Hospital/Academic Appointments such as Professor of Medicine at University of Calabar from 2007 to 2019 and at University of Uyo from 2020 till date.

He is a highly experienced administrator within the University and professional organizations, who has lead several teams and committees to enviable success.

Extensive research that he has done in the field Pulmonology, Critical Care Medicine, HIV/AIDS and Tropical Medicine has given birth to several Journal Articles, Book Chapters, Proceedings, and Conference paper presentations. Majority of them are open access in this knowledgebase.

He is married and blessed with quality children.
